Background
Logan began his career as a CPA and moved into financial planning from there.
“I enjoy connecting, mentoring, and coaching people,” he says. “When starting my own advisory business, I wanted to use my financial background to make a difference in the lives of my clients.”
Challenges
Starting an advisory practice takes a long time. Many individuals and families already work with a financial advisor and may have a preconceived notion of what an advisor does.
“Most people are resistant to change so educating prospective clients on my planning process is crucial to growing my business,” Logan says.
Solutions
One of the main takeaways from the BIG program for Logan was developing a decision-making roadmap and using it to guide opportunities.
“When you are growing a business, you get pulled in a million directions and everyone throws their ideas at you,” he explains. “Developing a guide can help you stay focused and avoid distractions.”
Logan is now more selective with his time, and more consistent with activities that will grow his business or improve his client relationships. Through that process, he has developed deeper, stronger connections.
“The best part of BIG for me was the people,” he says. “We had a small but mighty group, and we grew very close throughout the program.”
